GHS 2026

Event Cancellation

After careful deliberation and a thorough assessment of the current global landscape, the organizing committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the Global Humanitarian Summit, originally scheduled for April 17–19, 2026. This decision was not made lightly. However, in light of the current political climate and increasing safety concerns, we believe that canceling the in-person gathering is the only way to ensure the absolute security and well-being of our global participants. Our primary responsibility is to provide a space where collaboration can happen freely and safely; at this time, we feel those conditions cannot be fully guaranteed.

While this specific event will not take place, our mission is not slowing down. We are immediately shifting our energy toward new forms of collaboration and future initiatives. We view this as a pivot, not a pause. Our team is already working on localized workshops, digital forums, and strategic partnerships that will allow us to continue moving forward.

Regarding a virtual alternative: While we are exploring digital options for the future, there is no tentative date for a virtual event at this time. We want to ensure any digital gathering is as impactful and secure as our physical summit would have been. We will reach out well in advance once a date is set to make everyone aware.

We remain deeply committed to the humanitarian work that brings us together. Thank you for your understanding, your resilience, and your unwavering support.

In Solidarity,

The Global Humanitarian Summit Organizing Committee

FAQ Section

Q: Will there be a virtual version of the Summit?

A: We are currently evaluating how to best transition our programming into a digital space. At this time, we do not have a tentative date for a virtual event. Our priority is quality and security over speed; however, we will reach out to our entire network well in advance of any future digital gatherings to ensure everyone has ample time to prepare.

Q: Why was the event canceled so close to the date?

A: We have been monitoring global developments closely. Recent shifts in the political climate and specific safety evaluations led us to conclude that proceeding with an international gathering of this scale would pose unnecessary risks to our attendees and staff.

Q: How can I stay involved while we wait for new dates?

A: We are putting all our energy into future collaboration. Please stay subscribed to our newsletter and follow our social channels, as we will be launching a new “Collaborative Action” platform soon to keep our network connected. Click here to stay connected

Q: What should I do about hotel reservations and flight plans that have already been made?

A: We understand that some of you have already coordinated your travel. Here is the recommended course of action:

• Hotel Reservations: If you booked independently via a third-party site or at a different hotel, you will need to contact them directly to cancel.

• Flight Plans: We recommend contacting your airline as soon as possible. Many airlines now offer flight credits or vouchers for future travel, even on non-refundable fares, due to changing global circumstances.

• Travel Insurance: If you purchased travel insurance, we suggest reaching out to your provider to see if “cancel for any reason” or “political instability” clauses apply to your policy.

The Global Humanitarian Summit  is not responsible for individual travel or any other costs incurred by any individual, but we are happy to provide an official “Letter of Cancellation” if you need documentation for an insurance claim or a refund request.

Thank you again for your support and understanding as we move into the next phase of our humanitarian journey.

TaTa and see you soon!
